Works like a charm on Moto G 2015 running Oreo 8.1.0 (Pixel Experience ROM).

Boss, tell me frankly is that rom working fine or not? Tell me about camera, performance and mainly about battery performance and stock features of moto.. are there any bugs

      • Chagui

Sure, well, in general this ROM is awesome, my Moto G 2015 really looks like a Pixel and everything at software level and Oreo features work fine: notifications, lock screen, Pixel Laucher, Wi-Fi, mobile data (including 4G), divided screen for multitasking and picture in picture, etc; all Moto stock features work, and in general this ROM doesn’t make your phone slow.
Now, I’ll tell you the problems: so far (I’ve been using it over a week and a half) I haven’t experience major bugs, the issues I’ve had are regarding camera and crashing (unexpected closing of apps) in a few apps. The Camera app included by default in this ROM freezes when recording video, it’s fine at taking photos and, besides, it doesn’t offer an option to save pics in the microSD card. The developers of this ROM are aware of this, so they suggest instaling Footej Camera, a freemium app based on Google’s Camera app (by the way, you can get a Footej Camera modified APK from Mobilism Forum that unlocks some premium features, but I don’t recommend using modded apps beacause of potential security issues, you know, if you use it, do it under your own risk). This Footej Camera is good, however I had some problems at visualizing and playing back pics and vids from my favorite gallery app which is Foto Gallery (by Gion Lab), so I restarted the phone and problem is gone. I haven’t tried any other camera apps, but I’ve seen some comments about issues while attempting record videos, meanwhile for taking pics everything is OK. In regards to app crashing, this has happened to me with just a few apps, and I think the cause is incompatibility with Oreo, since for some apps I use old versions, so for some of them I installed the lastest version and crashing is gone, but for some others crashing still happens. The apps that crash are very speciif for my needs: Nicequest, Airmore, Wifi Analyser, however, popular apps work perfect (Facebook Lite, Messenger, WhatsApp, Chrome, Firefox, Parallel Space Lite, Google apps, Duolingo, Spotify).
Now, battery, well, I’m not completely sure about it, but I have a little sensation about the baterry duration is lower compared to when I used LineageOS 14.1 Nougat. It’s just my impression, and it wouldn’t a surprise, since it’s common that recently cooked ROMs are not so good at battery efficiency, this is something that developers solve as time goes by. Or, maybe it’s beacause I’ve been using my phone too much, you know, exploring the interface and options, setting everything up, personalizing, installing stuff and so on.
In conclusion, this is ROM is so stable that you can use it on your main phone every day, however it may need some tweeks in order to solve the above mentioned issues and some other that, by now, I haven’t experienced. This ROM for Moto G 2015 only has been released/updated three times, so it’s a new one and new updates are coming to make it even more stable. I’m very satisfied with it, and I’m planning to keep using it. Greetings!

P.S. In order to get your phone rooted, use Magisk flashable zip. Go through its official XDA Developers thread to get the files and instructions or, simply, follow one of the thousand of videotutorials.
