Release Notes:

Note that unlike Pixel's Phone 5.1, this Phone 6.0 APK requires Android 7.1+.

• Bug fixes
Update the Phone app for your Android Marshmallow device* to improve your calling experience and gain control over calls with features like spam protection, caller ID and call blocking.

See warnings about potential spam callers and report suspicious calls to help protect the community from telemarketers, fraudsters and spammers.

Know who’s calling before you pick up, with business names now visible on the call screen along with their number.

Get the calls you want, and not the ones you don’t. You can now block numbers to prevent unwanted calls.

Check your messages without having to call voicemail - view, playback and delete them right from the Phone app. Currently available for Project Fi, T-Mobile USA, and Orange France customers.

No more switching apps or cumbersome copy and paste. Just find and call places right from the Phone search bar.

*This app update is supported on Nexus, Android One and Google Play Edition devices running Android Marshmallow and above.

This release may come in several variants. Consult our handy FAQ to see which download is right for you.

Just installed on my N6p using 7.1.1. Everything looks good and an added bonus it’s working with VZW visual voicemail.

The thing is, in my case at least (N6P), that there is no more slide to answer/reject when the screen is locked. Just 2 buttons to touch, which can lead to accidental answering/rejecting calls!

With my 5X I have the excact same issue, I hope it will be fixed with an update soon!

      • Cristian Radulescu

After a while, I noticed that the app kind of uses a different approach… While in the pocket, if it rings, the screen stays off, therefore there would be no risk (in theory) to accidentally answer. I don’t know if, in everyday usage, it is going to be a better approach than just sliding to answer

That is good that the screen stays off while in pocket, but I also noticed that, even if I have two buttons to press, I can still slide up or down on empty (blue) space to answer or reject calls. Thats a bit weird, seems like a bug.
