Clubhouse is an app where people hang out. It’s like an impromptu dinner party at your neighbor’s house, the bar down the street where all your friends go, and your favorite coffee shop on a Sunday. It’s like putting your phone down and feeling your eyes adjust to the light in the room. It’s touching grass, but not as a metaphor, like really going outside and touching grass. It’s like taking a walk in the park with a friend, and then grabbing a drink that turns into a late dinner that turns into sure, I could go for some ice cream, but only if we walk the extra ten blocks to go to the good place. It’s the feeling you get when you realize someone actually cares what you have to say, it’s a genuine compliment, it’s asking “how are you?” and meaning it. It’s the part of the winding, lilting, late-night conversation when someone inevitably starts to yell about whether that movie was really so good or that song deserves to be #1 or if the future is completely bright or utterly terrible, and we laugh while we argue, and it’s nothing and everything special and it feels good.
