    Beta.

    • What @Tomm said. Beta is 12.5.

      • Ricardo

Stable for some. Beta for the most.

        • Now we’re muddying the definitions of beta and staged rollouts. A staged stable is still stable.

          • Ricardo

Personally, I would like to know where these definitions are written. Everything is completely abstract otherwise…
By observing Google releases, I can state they have betas for 2 or 3 branches of GPS; for example, all my accounts still have 11.9.75 in stable and all other branches are retrieved from Beta program.

          • Ricardo

Today 12.2.21 moved to stable and 11.5.18 is available on Beta Program.
Complementing yesterday’s answer, and considering some people received this as stable, I would say Google procedure is like this:
            1. Widely available Beta + very restricted rollout on Stable.
            2. Widely available Stable + new widely available Beta.

Surely, this is possibly wrong, because Google is the creator of the “eternal beta” and nonsense versioning systems.

It’s not beta, most phones just update them slowly and randomly (months later)

I still got issues with play services 12.x and smart lock on my samsung note 8. Got no issues with 11.x
