Finally installs on S8 May patch

  • Sam Earley

Was able to install on Unlocked S8 Oreo. I was told it updated to allow individual txt notifications sounds from different contacts, but it doesn’t!

    • Joe W

If you haven’t figured it out yet, It does. You have to go into the actual conversation of each contact, select the 3 dots in the upper right corner and under notifications, select custom.

      • Sam Earley

Yes, that worked. It is really hidden in there. I still wish it allowed the notification setting for user messages to be make in Contacts like it was before.

  • Mr. Ronnie

Installed on tmobile note 8 so far it’s working just fine no duplicate text recieving or sending good job dude

How are you not getting duplicate messages received? I had to install a package disabler to disable message service. I am also running T-mobile Note 8.

      • Mr. Ronnie

Well after a day or two I started to get them again but can I ask what package disabler did you use and did that stop the duplicate text…plz say yes lol

        • Jeremy Wolfington

package disabler pro + (Samsung) then all you do is install it then scroll down to “Message service”

          • Mr. Ronnie

Thanx I installed it hopefully that fixes my duplicate text problem, it was annoying me so bad

          • Mr. Ronnie

Ok so after a few text messages this morning, you solved my only problem thanks man good tip ,I wasnt sure if that would work and it did

  • Tammy Mellert

Installed and working great on an AT&T Galaxy S9+ and Samsung Gear Sport watch….thank you!

  • Mr. Ronnie

Go the samsung theme store and find a dark theme it will change the messenger app then as well problem solved

  • Mr. Ronnie

  • aarozone

About time! This version (5.0.21.18) installed and works perfectly on Note 8. 💥

    • Mr. Ronnie

Are you getting the duplicate text plague lol cuz I am from time to time

      • Jaime Garcia

I am, and my texts were going to 2 different contacts at the same time. Scary

        • Mr. Ronnie

Yep I had that problem with the 5.0.11.8 version and after that I still the duplicate text sometimes I send them and sometimes I recieve them lol……we can’t win at all

        • Mr. Ronnie

Hey someone in this thread recommended package disabler pro its 3.49 but it works ,once you install it go to message service and disable that and that work stop the duplicate text and sending them to the wrong person ,I have it installed and it works perfectly just restart it phone once you’ve done it

      • Jaime Garcia

        On my note 8

  • chris stefani

Installed this to facilitate custom notification sounds, which worked. But now all my received text messages text boxes have a white background! Since the text itself is also white, guess who can’t read any text messages now. There was a time when one could change the text message text color. Not anymore. Another feature removed. I’ve about had it with samsung and android

  • SVS

How do I uninstall 5.0.21.18 ?? I hate it. It disabled all the other features that stock Samsung messages normally does. I just wanted to add custom text tones, but it’s not worth it to lose all the other features.

    • Mr. Ronnie

Turn that shit sideways and shove it straight up ur candy azz lol

    • Mr. Ronnie

Custom text tones came with the whole oreo update not a single app update …leave your phone alone before you brick your shit

    • Jeremy Wolfington

All you do is click on the messages app, go to settings, about messages then click where it says app info that will bring up the app info then click the 3 dots and uninstall updates. Once that uninstalls you click on the same sections before and update the app again that will revert back to the original messages updated.

      • SVS

        Thanks for the help!!
