About Hermit — Lite Apps Browser 8.1.1
LITE APPS
Fast tiny Web apps with Android integration.
Premium
With Hermit, you can replace your large native apps with Web-based Lite Apps, and then turn on unique features.
Compare Hermit (2 MB) with many other Android apps that are upwards of 50 MB. (We can’t name them here, but check out the most popular social networking apps.)
Plus, you can browse faster, save data, block ads, protect your privacy, browse in Night Mode, Reader Mode, and customize your Lite Apps with over 20 different settings for every Lite App!
BROWSE FASTER. SAVE DATA. PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY.
Hermit speeds up your browsing with several tricks, while also protecting your privacy.
Hermit does not contain any Ads. Not even in the Free Version.
Ad Blocker: Makes all web pages lean, tiny, and beautiful again.
Popup Blocker: Prevents unsafe and deceptive sites from opening new tabs or vibrating your phone.
Malware Protection: Hermit blocks any attempts to install native Android apps.
JavaScript Blocker: makes most pages load faster.
Data Saver Mode: Speeds up browsing by reducing image size.
Automatic AMP Redirection: Hermit can load Accelerated Mobile Pages (4× times faster and 10× smaller) instead of full Web pages.
Strict Privacy Policy: No ads, no behavior tracking, no personal information collected.
SUPERIOR BROWSING FEATURES
Night Mode: Any web site can be viewed in Night Mode with a dark background and light text.
Reader Mode: Focus on the article by removing all the useless parts of a page.
Quick Settings: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen any time.
Multi Window: Use two Lite Apps at once on Android Nougat and above.
Direct Share: Share text & links from any Android app to Hermit Lite Apps.
ANDROID SYSTEM INTEGRATION
Icons on your Home Screen: Although other browsers also let you add icons to your home screen, Hermit is the only one that integrates it tightly into Android. See why: hermit.chimbori.com/features/compare
Each Lite App in its own Tab: Just like native apps.
Notifications from Atom/RSS Feeds: Get immediately notified when a web site publishes new content.
UNLIMITED CUSTOMIZATION
No other browser lets you customize as many settings as Hermit does, and they’re saved individually for each Lite App.
Custom Icons: Pick any icon for your Lite Apps. Or Hermit can create a custom monogram for you!
Color Picker: Create your own theme.
Text Size: Change and save settings individually for each site.
Desktop Mode: Load desktop sites instead of mobile sites.
Frameless Mode & Full-screen Mode: You’ll have to try these out for yourself!
SIMPLE PRICING: TWO OPTIONS
Free Forever: All features are 100% enabled. No Ads. No nags. Limited to 2 Lite Apps.
Premium: Paid option that unlocks an unlimited number of Lite Apps.
Our only source of revenue is the Premium version. Your purchase directly supports new features & ongoing development.
We will gladly offer you Hermit Premium for free if you’re a student: See hermit.chimbori.com/help/students
