Google Maps Timeline

You can now optionally store historic location information on the device for use in Google Maps. This feature is turned off by default and can be enabled in Location settings. Also optionally, you can enable support for synchronizing the location history information across your devices via your Google account. For this synchronization, the data itself is technically encrypted, but Google could inject additional "devices" to perform a MITM attack to read your data.

Notes

microG GmsCore now requests a few additional privileged permissions. As always, privileged permissions are optional for microG and you can continue using microG as an unprivileged app with only minor downsides. The new privileged permissions are:

Release artifacts

Users on devices with an aftermarket custom operating system ("Custom ROM") that supports microG should install com.google.android.gms-250932032.apk and com.android.vending-84022632.apk. These versions are also distributed through the microG F-Droid repository.
Users on Huawei devices running original operating system (EMUI or HarmonyOS) that supports microG should install com.google.android.gms-250932032-hw.apk and com.android.vending-84022632-hw.apk. These versions are also distributed through Huawei AppGallery.
org.microg.gms-250932032-user.apk is a development preview for special situations. Do not use it except if you know why.
