Summary: This release adds the My Bottom 50 playlist, faster and more efficient playback (Opus audio and HTTP/3 on by default), a restored and refined Liquid Glass interface, and several performance and layout fixes.

Added

• My Bottom 50 playlist: An auto-playlist of your 50 least-played tracks, mirroring My Top 50. It supports period filtering, shuffle, play, queue, download, multi-select and search. It can be toggled in Appearance settings and is indexed in settings search. Contributed by @andrewvalletta (#420).
• Ahead-of-time track preloading: The first 2 MB of the next queued track is now cached in advance, removing loading spinners and gaps between tracks.
• Network optimizations:
  • TCP connection pooling for ExoPlayer.
  • Cronet (HTTP/3) integration.
  • Emergency Piped API fallback for 403 blocks, which fixes infinite loading.
  • Option to force Opus audio (itag 251).
  • New toggles for Cronet and Opus in Content settings.
• Liquid Glass gliding selector: A spring-animated indicator now follows the active tab in the bottom navigation bar.
• Ambient mode customization: New settings for ambient mode. Ambient mode and Liquid Glass options are now searchable in settings.
• App icons: Added the Echo Cat and Billie Eilish icons.
• Hero carousel fallback: The Home carousel now falls back to library songs, so it is no longer empty on fresh installs.

Changed

• Force Opus Audio and HTTP/3 (Cronet) are now enabled by default.
  • A migration check applies the new defaults on fresh installs and updates.
  • Opus reduces data usage by about 50% compared to AAC/M4A.
  • Both can still be disabled in Content settings.
• Liquid Glass (Beta) restored: Real-time backdrop blur is back across the Player, Mini Player, Queue and navigation bar.
• Floating navigation bar:
  • Tabs are now horizontal, and only the active tab shows its label.
  • The bar height is standardized to 56dp to match the search button.
  • The expanded Mini Player now matches the navigation bar's width and height.
• App Icon settings screen redesigned:
  • Icons are sorted alphabetically.
  • Each icon has its own squircle card, matching the settings design system.
  • The selected icon is highlighted, and the layout respects the mini-player insets.
  • The toolbar background is now a solid surface color.
• Liquid Glass settings icons updated:
  • Surface Tint now uses a contrast icon.
  • Glass Text Color has a new custom icon.
  • Glass Player and Glass Mini Player now use a drag handle icon.
• Home hero carousel now spans edge to edge.
• Search screen:
  • The outline border is removed from the search bar.
  • Vertical spacing around the Explore tabs is reduced.
  • A subtle divider now separates the tabs from the content grid.
• Lyrics rendering: The blur effect is replaced with scale (1.0x active, 0.85x inactive) and opacity, which lowers GPU load.

Fixed

• Spotify import and sync: Playlists no longer stop at 100 tracks. Pagination now uses the REST API, with batch limits reverted to avoid rate limiting (#329, #442).
• Lyrics performance: Shimmering during auto-scroll is resolved (#361).
• Library FAB: It no longer overlaps the Liquid Glass mini player.
• Artist header text: It no longer becomes unreadable over bright images.
• App Icon settings: The screen now scrolls.
• Speed Dial grid items: They now fill the grid square, matching the Randomize button.
• Inline navigation tab: The icon is now vertically centered with a 1:1 aspect ratio.
• My Top 50 and My Bottom 50 queries:
  • Hiding video songs no longer returns fewer than 50 tracks.
  • Results now follow the correct ranking order.
• Library Playlists layout: The Top and Bottom buttons now align with the other buttons in the row.
• Bottom playlist about section: It now uses the correct localized text.

Known Bugs

The following issues are known and will be fixed in the upcoming update:

• AI lyrics translation: Lyrics translation via AI is currently not working.

Removed

• Unused dependencies: googleDriveApi, googleApiClient, playServicesAuth, androidx.browser and jsoup. playServicesLocation is kept because it is loaded via reflection for F-Droid compatibility.
